The Fish Stall has been selling fish to the good people of Bermondsey for over 100 years and was owned and run by the Palmer family until the early 1980’s when the last in the line, Joe Palmer took his wellies off for the last time and retired. When all great dynasties end, things falter for a time and the Fish Stall passed through the hands of a string of charlatans, until in 1985 it fell to local man Russell Dryden to don the fabled wellies and the rest as they say, is Fish-tory.
Fish is amongst the healthiest foods you can eat, rich in protein, vitamins and minerals that are crucial to good health. Fish is also the world's best source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are vitally important for your body and brain and proven to lower risk of heart attacks, strokes and heart disease.
Fish is delicious and easy to cook and eating fish at least once a week will make you a healthier and happier person. The Fish Stall will point you in the right direction.
Russell goes to London’s famous Billingsgate Market at the crack of dawn on trading days to select an alluring batch of the freshest fish available. Despite the efforts of our brave fishermen, all seafoods are subject to the weather and availability so the selection will reflect this. But come whatever, the daily fishy fayre is brought directly to the stall at very reasonable prices with the total emphasis on quality of service. At the Fish Stall the customer comes first.
